Tanya Pinto, LCSW, M.Ed., graduated from Aurora University’s School of Social Work and has prior experience in outpatient community mental health centers. In addition, her background in education has provided Tanya with a wide array of experience working with adolescents, parents, couples and the elderly on issues ranging from anxiety, depression, school issues, self-esteem, stress management, life transitions, grief and loss and relationship concerns.

Biography

Tanya looks at the whole person which includes the emotional, physical, social and spiritual aspects to identify and address the core issues which are impacting her clients. Tanya engages in therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, person-centered and strengths-based modalities which are tailored to meet the presenting needs and concerns of her clients.

Tanya utilizes a collaborative approach which is built upon the foundation of trust and safety. Tanya offers support, compassion, empathy and unconditional acceptance and positive regard to her clients. Her gentle yet direct approach is designed to empower clients to utilize their strengths to create positive growth and change in their lives.

At the direction of her clients, Tanya uses spirituality to help clients understand their own innate power and their interconnectedness to the universe and all other human beings. Tanya believes that every individual has their own inner knowing (inner voice) and that when this voice is honored, clients can make profound progress within themselves and in relationship to others. Tanya is passionate about her work and feels both honored and privileged to walk alongside clients as they become their own agents of change toward a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
