Kim received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 1997 and has worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence for 15 years and in college counseling centers for 12 years. Kim specializes in working on trauma recovery with those who have been abused or encountered difficult situations that have left scars on the inside that are hard to heal. Kim also works with youth and adults on LGBTQ-related concerns. Kim speaks Spanish fluently, and can address anxiety, depression, trauma, and other concerns in either English or Spanish.

Biography

Kim sees that anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, judgement from others, and grief can create barriers in our minds and hearts, but it doesn’t have to remain that way. Kim understands that her clients want to recover their strengths, feel more joy, and face their life situations with more confidence. Kim’s works to empower people to pursue the life they really want, cope with challenges more effectively, and maintain better connections with loved ones. She works with pre-teens and up through seniors from all cultures, traditions, backgrounds, genders, and orientations.
